Yes Virginia, there is yoga beyond the gym and the yoga studio! Where there's Internet, there are ways to practice yoga. I'm continually amazed at the proliferation of yoga sites that offer free yoga videos, yoga communities, and all kinds of yoga-related information.
If you're in need of a free yoga injection, look no further than your computer. Here's the latest resources for you to check out:
If you've ever been curious about AcroYoga, check out this introduction to the practice. I've seen it practiced in Central Park in NYC and a friend of mine has been having fun with this playful practice as well. Think of it as playground time for yogis!
There's a lot of content on YouTube and not all of it good. Yoga Online is one of the good ones. Choose from full routines (broken down into segments) for beginners, seniors, as well as a very interesting routine entitled Yoga and the Art of Aging. You can subscribe to the Yoga Online channel on YouTube and/or follow them on Twitter.
If you want to go beyond yoga practices to connecting with other yogis and discovering yoga resources of all types, I suggest joining MyYogaClub.com. Join in on the forum discussions, promote your services, or interact with like-minded yogis.
All this at the tips of your fingers. Pretty cool, eh? Enjoy!
