At the age of 32, a friend suggested, "sit in the nude & stare into a mirror." So, I did. And after staring (for 10 minutes) at my face, arms, stomach, eyes, feet and legs, I realized the mirror reflection did not match up with the words pouring out of my mouth. And therefore, I searched for a way to altered my lifestyle to create an individual I would enjoy seeing each morning.
So, I decided to make improvements to my physical body by attending a yoga class at 24 hour fitness. And as I walked into gym, I wondered, Can I touch my toes? Can I endure 1.5 hours of physical exercise? And, I contemplated, "what is yoga? And although I executed none off the poses to perfection, as the yoga class ended, a smile came to my face.
Presently 18 years later, I have experienced many of the benefits of yoga. Through the physical strengthening of the human body; through the physiological improvement of the organs of action; through the enhanced psychological awareness of personal choices - Yoga has brought me to BEING the reflection I see in the mirror. And now, the words from my mouth match my reflection.
So, what do you see when you look in the mirror?
