Question: What environmentally-friendly actions do you take off your mat?
Using re-usable bags is just one of the many actions we can take off our yoga mat to keep on practicing an updated take on ahimsa, one of the yogic yamas, or guidelines for living. Ahimsa is most often translated as non-violence or compassion, not just to other people but to ourselves and the planet. Taking small or big steps to take care of our planet is ahimsa in action.
Eco-chic company Envirosax is on board. Officially, the reusable bag co. wants to “help create a better future for our planet by spreading the environmental message through colour and script using the Envirosax eco-friendly reusable bag as the vehicle.” Australia-based company founders Belinda and Mark David-Tooze talk their walk. The couple lives with their three children on 10 acres of Australian rainforest where they use solar hot water and photovoltaic cells for electricity; a sewage system recycles waste water, watering the extensive permaculture gardens; and filtered rainwater tanks provide the organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees and the premises with water.
Envirosax is giving three (3) lucky My Yoga Online members one (1) bag of their choice.
