SUBS : Merci Jerome Mercier

Posted Sep 30 08 11:03am

6182711t5gl It's pretty disappointing to look forward to attending classes with a couple of my favorite teachers & experience a double hit case of the "SUBS".

For a yoga instructor, the opportunity to substitute for a teacher with a following is a test of their light & wisdom. They should understand WHY that teacher has senior students and run with it. Is it  just me who thinks that a teacher should pick their SUB judiciously ?

I am going out on a limb to say that in BOTH instances, today & yesterday , I was extremely UNDERWHELMED by the   choice of both SUBS, to the point that the term "CORNY" would be an  appropriate description. SUB " A" yesterday was too damn precious and intimated by a sparsely filled room. SUB "B" this afternoon was more senior , but as another yogi describes his style : "I'm not feeling it ". And I'm not feeling his "Down Doggie" or Britney Spears references in class either. It was a supreme test of EQUANIMITY not to walk out of both classes after the 1st 15 minutes. (Image via Amazon )

** Merci Jerome Mercier. Making it to his 6 AM class today after 2 months was the best Holiday gift. Knowing that my presence was missed by an awesome teacher like you was an added bonus. Practicing with him this morning eased out all the kinks and AMA that have accumulated from work . Jerome knows how to clear all those NADHIS using the 3 As : Asana , Alignment & Adjustment. And once again I am inspired by classmates like Daniel & Lorenzo who can pop Handstands, Pincha Ms and Eka Pada Galavasanas in the middle of the room.

Learning from a MAHA teacher is always an EXPERIENCE ; what makes it ultimately more special is the genuine ATTENTION & SOUL of that teacher for students & the practice.
