This year, I decided that weight lifting was not my thing. For whatever reason, doing multiple reps with weights never really got me fired up or excited. So, I decided to just do yoga and pilates. I like going to classes and I'm able to see progress in my strength. I also like the stress relief element that yoga has been providing me as well. It's been a good balance to the running and biking that I've been doing. I've noticed that I'm able to prevent injuries from all the stretching, too. And, I've been using my yogic breathing when I'm in the water swimming laps.
Is there anyone else out there using yoga and pilates as your strength training component? I'd love to hear more tips and advice or ways to add variety to my yoga practice.
