Last Sunday was the culmination of an extremely long and stressful week. I had set the alarm on my mobile phone to alert me in time for Vytas B.'s 2 PM class. It went off as I was deeply immersed in a bunch of email messages -
I should have had an inkling something was off as I headed up the East studio steps. Both doors were closed. Heading into class , oblivious to everything, I saw that everyone was in the midst of Marichyasana III ( and pretty sweaty as well ) . Wow, I thought, that's pretty cool - marichyasana as an opening series -
While rolling my mat out, it finally dawned on me that I was an hour late into the class ( Spring ahead an hour ! ). My teacher calmly walked up to me ( perhaps even glided ) and softly said : " Did you not know about the time change - Just go slow "
Upon further reflection after my truncated practice, I realized that anticipation & expectation can generate the most unexpected scenarios. And they should all be faced with calm and grace. Just roll with it -
