So why did this recent study catch my attention enough that I wanted to talk about it on video? Because I talk to so many life coaching clients who say they don’t want to feel or express emotions like anger, sadness or fear. They’d rather suppress those emotions—in case other people are offended by them, turned off by them, or turn away from them.
Essentially, we freeze in the exact state we don’t want to be in.
OURBRAIN ON EMOTION
Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, a brain researcher who had a massive stroke and watched as her brain functions shut down one by one eventually helped her brain recover. While watching her brain, she noticed something interesting about emotions. This tiny tidbit is can be a huge savior for people wanting to get out of a funk and get back on track.
Check out the video to hear what Mund and Mitte discovered, what Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor found out, and save yourself from walking around in a funk all day.
