New Year's Day - Donation Yoga Class

Posted Dec 26 2010 11:44am

By incorporating the Tibetan teachings of "living each day as it was your last," I have learned to remove myself from the emotional & economic strains which American holidays can place upon you. Instead of following the "Hallmark Calendar," I treat each day the same. And I remain focused on my inner intentions, my dharma, my path . ..

  • 1. No grand anniversary celebrations.
  • 2. No elaborate holiday decorations.
  • 3. No over consumption of food & alcohol.

i

Well being that Christmas fell within my weekly yoga class schedule, I was compelled to teach a Christmas Day Yoga Class. And as I unlocked the James Howell Studio, I was greeted by 10 yoga students. And then, there were 20 yoga students. And then, 45 yoga students continently sat awaiting the beginning of the Iyengar yoga class .

And as I demonstrated " Chaturanga Dandasana , I realized, we all had an excuse for taking Christmas Day off. Yet, we gathered & continued with our yoga practice.

So here's another opportunity to put aside the distractions of society and continue with your inner intentions, your dharma, your path .... ..
