One thing we learn in yoga is to make space. We make space in the spine by lengthening it. We make space in our joints by gradually stretching the muscles. And we make space in our core by expanding the breath. Sometimes all it takes is to slow down long enough to let that space in. When we're all tense, there is no space. When we breathe deeply and slowly, we can help but open up. It feels so good and relaxing. Literally a breath of fresh air. Think about that next time you practice, and then take that idea of making space from your mat out into your day and see what happens!
