Curbed LA ran an interview yesterday with Locan O'Herlihy, the Venice Cali based architect and principal behind LOHA.
Nestled in Calabasas is his project " Jai House " - jai being Sanskrit for victory. It was conceived as a sacred sanctuary for yogis / spouses interior designer Julie Piatt and lawyer / film maker Richard Roll. As per the LA Times, O'Herlihy's goal was for a direct merging with the landscape so that you experience it and not just look at it.
It is evident that several spaces in the house were designed for yoga practice and meditation. There is definitely a connection between modern minimalism and the equanimity that consistent yoga practice develops.
