Healthy living is about incorporating mind, body, and spirit approaches to wellness. That is when real health and happiness unfold. Q: What style of yoga do you practice?
A: I practice and teach Kundalini Yoga.
Q: When people ask you, “What is Kundalini Yoga?” what do you say?
A: Kundalini Yoga is the most ancient of yogas, going back more than 3000 years. All other yogas fall under its umbrella. It is the yoga of awareness; an ancient system where we learn through breathwork, meditation, and movement. One year of Kundalini Yoga is like five years of Hatha – it is an accelerated process.
With Kundalini Yoga, whether you practice it as a form of physical activity, a way toward emotional healing, or a spiritual path, it is a technology for reviving your life and discovering your self. Kundalini Yoga is a powerful exploratory vehicle for modern times. This technology has profound effect on the body, mind, and soul bringing health, wellbeing, and conscious living to all who practice it on a regular basis.
Q: How has yoga transformed your life?
A: Practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga has been an in-depth exploration of ancient technologies including breathwork, meditation, and posture sets. I started out exploring this ancient knowledge and in the end it explored me. My intention was to learn about the technology and I walked away being a teacher. This yoga opened me up to my life. Physically, I shed 22 pounds, no longer suffer from chronic back pain due to a car accident, and I feel better than I have in years. Mentally, I am more focused and calm. I came to realize that I could choose to live with more compassion, less knee-jerk reactions, and come from a place of deep care, respect, and concern for others and myself. Spiritually, I’ve let go of life’s pain and opened myself to possibility. Who doesn’t want more of that?
Q: What do you love most about teaching yoga?
A: Teaching yoga has a lot to do with seeking the truth inside yourself. It provides a wonderful service for others and has proven to be a profound way to make a positive difference in the world.
Three things come to mind when asked what I love most about teaching yoga.
Q: And finally, how do people find you?
A: Here’s how to connect with me and find information about the multi-level Kundalini Yoga classes that I offer:
