I'm not a bikram teacher since I have elected to study and teach a yoga which conveys more than rote asana to its students. And for that reason this should ideally be answered by a teacher within the practice you are choosing.

From my perspective as a Purna Yoga™ teacher, 2,000-hour trained and certified by the State of Washington, I believe there should be a fairly specific sequence of asanas practiced during the menstrual cycle such that the energy of cleansing (which is what menstruation is) flows with the cycle rather than against it.

For that reasons, a static practice (one that requires the student fit IT rather than one that fits the student) is oft not appropriate for what we, as human beings, experience daily in our living.
