A Side of the Feminine with Your Yoga

Posted Sep 03 2012 10:51pm

This post is for all of the ladies out there. If you're feeling like your yoga and/or meditation practice is lacking in feminine qualities or not honoring your feminine spirit, check out some of these resources. I, for one, started my yoga practice with a very vigorous, active practice that was very masculine in feel. Years later I found myself feeling disconnected and burned out, so I changed to a gentler practice that focused on being receptive. In order to avoid burnout or continuing with a practice that just doesn't resonate with you, it can be helpful to find a balance of the masculine and feminine in your practice. Here's a bit more on this topic...

DVD:
Yin and Yang Yoga with Simon Low

Yoga Conference:
Yoga, Sex and Feminism: Tantra Vinyasa Conference -- if you live (or always wanted to visit) the Dallas area, consider attending this yoga conference with a different spin. The link provided offers a 20% discount if you register before September 15.

Telesummit:
The Divine Feminine Yoga Telesummit kicks off tomorrow, September 4. It's free to register and listen live, and you can order the recordings for a nominal fee. This peaked my interest and I'll be listening in myself (although the link above isn't an affiliate link).

Article:
I just saw this interesting article by Lissa Rankin, in which she asks the question, have you sold out the feminine to be more "spiritual?"  Definitely worth a read.
