Devotees of Corporate Wellness Insights may remember that our own Emily wrote about the chair yoga classes she taught at a D.C. retirement home. You can read about it her experiences here .
To me, the Times article is a reminder that wellness is for everyone. We've designed successful wellness programs for countless employee populations -- law firms, construction workers, and everything in between. While our tactics may vary from company to company, our philosophy remains the same: Given quality health education and support, people will make positive lifestyle changes.
Several of our local clients offer yoga classes for their employees, which is a great way to relieve stress. I believe that taking time out for this kind of wellness activity actually improves productivity in the long run by avoiding burnout and fatigue.
Have you tried yoga? Is it as much of a stress-reliever for you as it is for me? Let me know in the comments section below.
