Hi Woollerton, I suffer IC too its bad, I went to an Urologist who gave me DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide): This medication is believed to work as an anti-inflammatory agent which reduces pain. DMSO can be mixed with steroids, heparin, sodium bicarbonate and/or local anesthetics to form a bladder cocktail.  Apparently I am in a period of remission, well see if its gone for good so far its been 8 months and I am good.
