I am absolutely up to my eyeballs in statistics for my last paper for my community assessment class. This last paper has us researching Healthy People 2010 goals for Maternal/Child Health -- several different indicators and goals. Then we have to find out what the statistics are for our community (county), state, and the entire United States.
Then.........creating contrasts and comparisons. Trying to figure out where we have the largest areas for improvement, where we're doing well, etc. Needless to say, it is quite a large and very daunting task.
I started the statistic collecting several weeks ago, since I knew it was going to be a huge piece of work. Here I am, still not able to find pieces of information (mostly in my own county), but I have the majority of the data collected.
Next up, I have to talk to the local Maternal/Child Health government person. I need to fill in the holes in my county data collection, and find out what the county's goals are to help improve maternal/child health.
THEN - I get to pick one item that needs improved, and expand on in in a humongous paper about midwifery care and maternal/child health.
