Have you tried taking a mental vacation? A mental vacation is coping mechanism of closing your eyes and letting your mind take you some place that you love that is very relaxing for you. It could be a beach or the mountains where the scenery relaxes you and calms you. Close your eyes and picture that scene for five or 10 minutes. Let your mind take you there and notice the surroundings: the water, the trees, the sun and the sand. Look around and take it all in; let the environment calm you and slow down your breathing. As you open your eyes, you should be feeling refreshed, energized and ready to cope again.
