Stress and Eating/Drinking Patterns May Cause Depression

New research shows that in women under 30, excessive eating, drinking and depression are linked. A recent study found that women with alcohol abuse issues at age 24 had three times the risk of obesity by age 27. Similarly, women who were obese at 27, were twice as likely to be depressed by the time they turned 30. The same pattern was not seen with men. It is suggested that the cause may be in the way women handle stress and biological differences in the brain.
