I was inspired by pickled ginger when making this juice. Cucumber (from pickles), lemons (for acid), pear (for understated sweetness), and ginger (for, well, ginger). Pickled ginger is such a fabulous palate cleanser when eating sushi and I was looking for a post dinner aperitif type juice that would work as a post dinner palate cleanser.
I’m so used to juicing with greens that I sometimes forget how lovely some carrot apple beet juice can be. Or some fresh squeezed orange juice. I love the sweeter juices and while they are delicious, I don’t drink them as often as their veggie counterparts because of the sugar content (sans fiber). But once in a while, I really enjoy them.
1 organic pear
1/2 cucumber (peeled if not organic)
1 inch peeled ginger
Juice all of the items and whisk to ensure the juice elements are thoroughly combined. Garnish with a lemon slice or pear slice (or both!) and serve.
