Pulsating, almost syphoning feeling between navel and sternum when beginning menstrual cycle.

Posted by Malone80

I am 28 years old, with no children. The last 6 months, I have been having this strong pulsating throb between my navel and sternum, almost in a straight line. The longer the pulsing goes, it feels as though I am being syphoned and drained, (I'm thinking aorta) to the point where I am afraid to stand up straight, because it feels like a knife. I got iron pills a couple of months ago which seems to help with the pain, but the pulsation is still there. It is not cramps, and the last two months, I have noticed my cycle going from 2-3 days to 4-7, and the entire time, bright red, with clots the size of a half dollar or larger, which feels like they are tearing from my body. I have also never had cramps until about 6 months ago. I have so much more respect now for women with difficult cycles! I have spoken to the doctor about my changes, and they do not think it is anything serious. They think I am just now starting ovulation. Isn't 28 a bit late to start? Any ideas what the changes might be?
