Assembly Candidate Alyssa Kogon to Propose Domestic Violence Reform
Assembly Candidate Alyssa Kogon will announce her proposal for legislation on Domestic Violence Reform on Monday, September 20 2010 on the steps of the Dutchess County Courthouse, 10 Market Street,Poughkeepsie, NY at 10:00 AM.
“The Bill will be known as "Linda's Law" in memory of Linda Riccardulli, Hyde Park resident and domestic violence victim,” said Alyssa Kogon. “It is the responsibility of our state representatives to understand the importance of this issue, and to pass meaningful domestic violence measures to protect victims, and prevent future tragedies.”
Maria DiBari, domestic violence survivor and Dutchess County resident proposed this much needed legislation hoping to help save other Domestic Violence victims from the same fate. “There is nothing worse than reaching out for help and finding out that there is no real help.This legislation will help save lives and end the needless bloodshed in NYS and beyond and it is long over due!”
