Premature Infants May Have Lifelong Problems

Pregnancy is supposed to last 40 weeks, but increasingly US babies are born prematurely, 13% born before 37 weeks. Newsweek describes an NEJM study indicating lifelong developmental delays and other complications affect many of these babies. The article also asks experts who's having premature babies, why, and what mothers can do before and during pregnancy to help carry the baby for the full 40 weeks.
