painful swelling under my tongue

Posted by caiden123

every morning for periods of about 7 days in a row the gland under my tongue swells as much as it can and it is painful! It swells so much that it feels like it's pulling my gums down away from my front bottom teeth. It almost looks like there is a second baby tongue under it.  There is a blister that forms at the tip of the swelling. One side of my neck also swells as if there is a golf ball in that gland. Then after about 30 - 60 minutes it slowly goes away. But it is incredibly painful...

It will stop happening for about a week or two anf then the cycle happens again. At first I thought it was an allergic reaction  to soemthing I was eating, but this morning I hadn't eaten anything (or even had anything to drink) and it happened again. What is it and why is it happening?
