National Women’s Health Week – “It’s Your Time”

I couldn’t let the day pass without reminding everyone that National Women’s Health Week kicked-off today and will be celebrated through May 16.  With the theme ”It’s Your Time,” the nationwide initiative encourages women to take simple steps to live a longer, healthier, and happier life.  Isn’t that what we all strive for?  So I encourage every woman out there to take a few minutes to visit  and pass it along to a friend.  The site offers tips and important steps to help women improve their physical and mental health and lower their risks of certain diseases,  including guidelines on physical activity, eating a nutritious diet,  a list of necessary preventive screenings and regular checkups, and tips for managing our mental health, including getting enough sleep (I’m still working on that one) and managing stress.

Visit  and commit to take small steps today that will improve your health tomorrow.  While you’re at it, encourage a friend to join you!
