Mucus in stool and abdominal pain?

For the past two months I had abdominal pain. No where specific. I have also been having lower abdominal cramping. I went to the doctor yesterday and she said she thinks it was all due to my level of stress. But today after I went poop. I wiped and noticed mucus. I have never had this before and I really concerned!
