Mom Bloggers: 6 Things a Million School Kids Have in Common

Posted Sep 11 2013 11:22pm

We invite moms who blog for social causes: Meet Our  Real Women on Health Change Agent for September: Connie Siskowski, RN, PhD,

Founder, American Association for Caregiving Youth

“6 Things a Million School Kids Have in Common”

Did you know that there are at least 1.2 million children in the United States under the age of 18 who care for their ailing grandparent, parent or sibling on an ongoing basis?

The demanding work of caring for a family member with a chronic condition forces young school aged caregivers to become responsible adults before their bodies are able to mature. This sad reality oftentimes results in the child’s inability to perform to their capacity in school and ultimately, results in school drop out.

Join influential caregiver advocates, Kelley Connors, Host, Real Women on Health and Goldie Erowele, Founder, with Connie Siskowski, RN, PhD, Founder, AACY for a 30-min on-line radio show on Wednesday, September 18th at 12:30 pm EST.

Mom bloggers interested in participating in this conversation with Kelley, Goldie and Connie should call 1-646-929-2625 and press #1 to speak. If you would rather listen or text chat that’s fine too. Simply go to the radio show page here on Wed Sept. 18th at 12:30 pm EST.
