Menopause the Musical

Posted Aug 14 2008 10:25am
A friend of mine at work organized a night out for some of her friends to see Menopause the Musical. If you have not seen it, it is a hoot. Several of us went. It was crazy when we reached the lobby of the theater, it was a sea of baby boomer women!!! In fact, several of us ran into other friends who were there for the show.

I really was not sure how this play was set. All I knew it was about the dreaded Menopause ! Well it was great. The play centered around four women who meet in a department store and soon form a friendship over sharing their various experiences with menopause or "the change". I believe most of the audience laughed the entire show! It was great. Not only was I laughing at the wonderful actresses but I was also laughing at myself and how much I related to so many of the issues they shared with us.

You know, they say laughter is the best medicine. Well, last night was a great dose of just that. If you were feeling a little low or may have had some doubts about what you have or am going thru , last night put an end to that. It plainly showed that all walks of life experience so many of the same things when going thru the change. It is great to realize you are not going crazy. In fact, today when I could not remember something, I just had to laugh to myself and think about a scene in the play about memory loss. Oh well, it is all part of the CHANGE!

If you have not seen the play, check out their web site and see if it is coming to a city near you. Their site is www.menopausethemusical.com for complete show listings. It is a great reason to get some girlfriends together and have some fun. I have to say there were a few men there. If they had a great sense of humor I am sure they enjoyed it too.

Menopause the Musical - it truly is a hilarious celebration of women and the change!
