It's either feast or famine (crazy busy or barely any patients) on L&D on the holidays. Labor day is no exception. How ironic, right?
I've worked the last two evenings in a row, and it's been VERRRRRRRY nice. (We never utter the "Q" word - we would be dooming ourselves to things changing quickly if that word is spoken aloud.)
I just got a call from the charge nurse - would I like to stay home for my shift?
Choices, choices.
Stay home - be on call - tied down to a limited area, in case I am called back in during the shift. Get paid 8 hours out of my vacation time.
Go in - get paid time and a half for a nice (hopefully!) shift.
What would you choose?
Tough choice. I decided to go in. Fingers crossed!!!!
