Three days ago I had an ovarian cyst rupture, I had to go to the emergency room because I was in extreme pain and was vomiting. After they diagnosed it they recommended I get a sonogram with my gynecologist just to make sure there are no complications. I haven't seen my doctor yet but I was wondering if it's safe to have sex after a case like that.
The reason to avoid sexual relations is avoid getting an infection. In other words, your risk of infection is greater immediately post-vaginal delivery when your cervix has been dilated AND immediately after some procedure in which your cervix/uterus was instrumented, eg dilation & curretage aka D&C. As long as you didn't require such a procedure and as long as you're comfortable, then you should be safe to engage in intercourse after a ruptured ovarian cyst. If there's any concern, you might want to receive oral stimulation w/o any vaginal penetration until after you've had a chance to consult w/your physician. Good luck!
