I have had dark brown spotting for 5 days after my period finished and today I started spotting (light red)

I had a dark brown discharge for 5 days after my period finished.  My periods usually come 26-28 days apart and one day before I spot (light brown).  But this time I had brown discharge for 5 days after my period finished.  And today I started to spot - when I noticed light red blood on the tissue after I urinated.  Also I noticed my urine was a pale pink colour.  Is this normal?  This has never happened to me before.  I am 43.  Is this a sign of hormonal imbalance?  Or pre-menopause?
