I have a 6.7cm x 4cm x 3,7 septated ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I had my left ovary removed last year because I had a very large (10cm) cyst. Does this mean that I should have a hysterectomy. I am 44 years old.  My Specialist thought that my symptoms were all in my head as I had just recently lost my father to cancer in November last year and my mother also to cancer two years previously.  I have the coil fitted and she was going to change this, but said that she couldn't find it and was I sure that it was there and not fallen out.  I assured her that I did have one and that I was certain that it hadn't fallen out as she put it - thought that I would have noticed that.  She also wanted me to see a Colorectal Surgeon as she thought that my pains were bowel related, but I told her that they were period type pains and not the sort of pains you get with wind etc.   My periods have been so irregular and I have been bleeding for 12/15 days with a break of three weeks between then bleeding again for 12 to 15 days with the odd day of bleeding inbetween.  I am so fed up with the pain and the bleeding I just want to know what to expect from her, but I don't really want her operating on me as I don't have much confidence in her at all after all this.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Find a doctor that listens to what you say and has options to satisfy your questions I'm not a doctor but I am a student and the only way you will feel better about the whole situation is to get straight answers to your questions or the testing needed to resolve the issues...pray about it and god bless you Anita
