I’ve generally shied away from having fresh flowers in my home. We are on a budget and I’d rather have some fresh wild salmon than a giant bouquet of flowers. Not to mention, while they smell great at first, if you don’t pay attention to them, they end up dying a very smelly death.
Cut to now, and with my weekly visits to the farmers market, the flower stands were just too pretty to pass by. I now buy flowers every so often and it really makes me love my space that much more. They are pretty and they make me happy. And shouldn’t we love our spaces?
I’m not a girly girl. I wear a lot of black and navy and my home is decorated in warm creams and browns with a pop of red here and there. But for some reason, I gravitate toward the girliest colors, hot pinks and lavendars. Let’s just attribute that to my 80′s childhoos.
But yes, Barbie threw up on my dining room table. Even her vomit is unrealistic.
