I am a 45yo female, who exercises just about every day (1/2 hour recumbent bike, jump rope, arm weights, stretches). On Friday night, I did some chores, nothing strenuous, and after sitting down for a half hour, I rose from the couch only to have my quads sieze up like a muscle pull. When I woke up Saturday morning, not only my quads, but my calf muscles, as well as my biceps, triceps, and the muscles on my forearms, were very sore, as if I had pulled those muscles! I can't squat without terrible pain, I can open jars or squeeze toothpaste. Advil, Tylenol, and Aleve don't work.
I don't have a fever or any other symptoms. what is this?
