OMG! That is what so many today put on face book etc to exclaim excitement. Well, Oh my Gosh, I am in awe of a place I visited the other day!
A good friend of mine invited my sister and I to a place in southern Indian as a treat. She is an avid Gardener as well as myself and my sister. She said she really wanted us to see this place and share something she knew we would appreciate.
Well, appreciate is an understatement. We visited a little know place called Cathedral Gardens in Henryville, Indiana. It is a creation of a dozen gardens laced with fountains, statuary and flowers of every variety, color etc. The site and depth of color is just breathtaking.
If you are a Gardener you will love this place and appreciate the work and love that goes into this man's back yard! If you are not a Gardener but love being among the beauty of the outdoors, ponds etc, you will love this place as well. It is a treat to the senses and a great, if not short, escape from the outside world.
The tour is about an hour and a half and they have golf carts that take you around the grounds. There are no restaurants on site but they welcome you to bring a lunch and enjoy your time on the grounds. Or in our case, we did not plan ahead in regards to food, they encouraged us to go get some lunch and come back to enjoy the grounds. Coming back that day was included in the cost of the tour. There are numerous spots throughout the Gardens you can enjoy lunch. Either in a formal garden, by the lakes, or under a tree. It is all there.
Of course I thought there would probably be some water on the property, I had looked over the web site. But I never thought I would witness such a beautiful site as their lake. The water lilies were nothing like anything I have ever seen, in every color imaginable. This was just another one of the breathtaking moments.
There are so many unknown treasures in every one's area. But this is one I am so glad a friend wanted to share with us. It was one of those places that we all said, "the pictures do not do this place justice, being here is an experience we will not forget."
