Five Things You Should Never Eat or Limit

Posted Oct 09 2009 8:40am

Did you know that over 75% of illness in America is created by our culture? Most of us are aware of this, but talking about it is one thing.  How do we find alternatives? It's simple, really, our lifestyle choices should be subject to scrutiny - We must all start living consciously. From the schools we choose for our children, to which foods we consume, we must, become our own researchers and advocates.

Five things you should never eat or limit

1. Pork or pork products.

These products contain sodium nitrate, which when digested releases a carcinogen in our bodies. Sodium Nitrate studies are now linking it to pancreatic cancer.

2. Nutrasweet or Aspertane.

These saccharin containing sweeteners contain carcinogens... Over 80% of Nutrasweet users complain of headaches, behavioral problems such as mood swings, depression, and sometimes confusion.  Did you know that 75% of nutrasweet is methanol, which when digested becomes formaldehyde? Did you know that many of the medicines you buy for your children contain this artificial sweetener?  http://www.mac-archive.com/ns/side.html

Below is the list of ingredients for Triaminic infant thin strips of which the first ingredient is acetone - need I say more?

Inactive Ingredients:    acetone, alcohol, dibasic sodium phosphate, FD&C Red 40, flavors, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, polacrilin, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized starch, propylene glycol, purified water, sorbitol, sucralose, titanium dioxide

3. Mayonnaise. 100% of its calories come from fat - Any questions?

Yes, mayo is made with oil and eggs.. but do we need 11 grams of fat per tablespoon? http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/food/generic/mayonnaise

4. Any product containing hydrogenated oil.

Products containing hydrogenated oil such as peanut butter or margarin should be avoided because they are not in their natural state.  http://web.pdx.edu/~jguest/oilindex.htm

5. Caffeine, Cola or Chocolate.

2 Cups of coffee a day increases your risk for heart disease by 50%.  4 Cups of coffee a day increases it by 100%. http://www.dorchesterhealth.org/caffeine.htm
