I have had herpes for about 26 years and have outbreaks fairly regularly. Usually they are merely annoying, but this time I experienced at the same time an elevated temperature for one day and severe aching in my hips which became a searing pain down my legs to the knee whenever I bent over. The pain persisted for more than two days. I am 74 years old and employed full time in a store, a job which requires many hours on my feet as well as frequent climbing of stairs. Also, I live in a third floor walkup and walk to work (1 mile each way) and do most of my errands on foot. I am in good shape generally and not subject to aches and pains.
