Not a whole lot to say. Lots of the same old, same old. More office days, some on call hospital shifts.......those babies are being very shy about coming out when I'm there. Really kids....no need to be shy! I have nice, gentle hands!
Work is...work. I think we may have started to hit our slower time for births, because we've been sending nurses home for low census days a lot lately. Usually our lowest births are in January and February, with a rise again in March.
But, then again, it is also the days just before Christmas and the end of the year. I wonder if we'll see a surge of back door inductions? (a.k.a. convenience inductions)
To do list Finish postpartum/newborn journal continuity patient Intrapartum case study (doing this one in January) Recertify for neonatal resuscitation (due in January) Get a PPD test by mid January Get the rest of my required number of births (19 more to go!) Finish up the other remaining patient encounters: 1 more preconception visit, 1 more new antepartum visit, 24 newborn assessments, 6 early postpartum visits, 12 later postpartum visits, 3 birth control visits, 22 peri/post menopause visits. Note to self: I plan on exceeding these numbers because these are just the minimum requirements that I still have to fulfill.
Finish up my clinical hours (about 250 hours left)
