The 1960's invention, the birth control pill, gets a well-deserved look at how well it works and how its used half a century later in this article in The New York Times. Turns out preventing pregnancy is one of the less convincing reasons to use the pill, and both doctors and drug companies are taking note. Don't forget Plan B, the "morning after pill", which is selling like hotcakes.
