 Birth control and bleeding..

I have been on birth control for about a month and 2 days. I started on the first day of my period last month. I have not missed any pills, but have taken the pill a couple hours late on a couple of occasions. I have been having unprotected sex with my husband and have been spotting since the time of taking the bc a couple hours late. I figured this is normal break through bleeding and my body getting used to the bc. However I am 2 days into my new pack for the month and I have been lightly bleeding mostly after sex but then it stops again, I have not really had to use anything to absorb. So my question is...should i be worried that my period is so light? or that i started spotting light pink? I am just wondering because i need to know if i should just continue with the bc as normal or if i should get a preg test. Thanks for your time!
