At the base of the left side of my neck (just above the collar bone), it is noticeably swollen. I did have a thyroid test

Posted by DD

last spring and was told it was normal. I am 51 years old and have enjoyed generally good health. Although, I have had problems with significant weight gain and fatigue over the past 2 years. It's gotten worse over the past year. I don't often go into the doctor and am reluctant to go again over this silly swelling. Since it is not my thyroid, is there a gland where I have described that just gets commonly swollen after a certain age or maybe it's a muscle that somehow got big on one side from going to the gym? I have been going to the gym 4-5 a week this summer (unfortunately it hasn't helped my weight or fatigue).
