A joint study from the University of Miami and the University of Florida found that a single bite of any kind of sweet can trigger a desire for more sweet or fattening foods like ice cream, chocolate, pizza, cookies, cakes, potato chips, and doughnuts. Studies show a little bite of a sweet treat can lead to uncontrollable eating in some people. So what do we do? Experts suggest it is important to set limits and quantities for yourself to indulge. If you decide you are going to have some chocolate, it is critical to tell yourself in advance how much you can have. For example, I’m going to have 2 cookies or 3 pieces of chocolate. And you must stop when you have eaten it. Otherwise you will constantly have the urge for more and you may give in to it causing those extras calories to add up.
