Well by tonight I get to take a shower and wash my hair. YEAAAAA. I also get to start warm compresses on my sutures. I dont know how that will feel as I am keeping ice on them pritty much all the time.... Then I get to clean my sutures with half water half peroxide and then add a steroid cream to it. Betamethasone...crap

I have recently been exposed by to a patients blood while hand tying sutures that were in the Achilles tendon. The suture caused a friction tear in my skin and the first glove. THe second glove did not have any tears as I tested it by running saline into the glove. But later I realized the same happened...crap

I am a surgeon. I was recently stuck with a suture needle. This happened one week ago... of HIV transmission as a result ofa stick with a solid-bore needle such as a suture needle. While suturing a wound on a pt the needle went through my glove and scratched my thumb. I did not... for several reasons:1.Suture needles are solid and less likely to transmit bloodborne pathogens than hollow-bore needles/syringes.2.Your scratch was very slight.
