Does anyone have answers as to how to cope with a "startle reflex"
    I experience what is called a "startle reflex".  When I encounter an unexpected noise, or see something move unexpectedly my entire body becomes spastic.  My legs come up, arms extend outward and backward... - forceful enough that the entire table moves.  My neck is traumatized as the startle projects a "whiplash...crap

exaggerated startled syndrome
I suffer from exaggerated startled syndrom.. i am taking prozac but it does not help me from being easily startled any suggestions.. It is embarrassing have to be shaky and startled in front of co-workers and friends.. drl3crap

that is responsible for breaking down dopamine (meaning it's a weakened gene) then they may have a stronger startle...-exaggerated "startle" reflex when they see upsetting images. and they then have trouble regulating their emotional response.  Combine their sensitivity with other hereditary and environmental factors...crap
