I am a 40 year old male who recently began going back to they Gym to get in better shape. I started out on the eliptical machine, with the general weight loss setting, for 20 minutes / day.... You get sore after you workout because your body is not used to the exercises... tears in your muscle fibers. Your body is a wonderful machine, when it's challenged, the muscles.... So if you are not feeling sore, this does not mean you did not have a good workout. As long as you feel challenged...crap
