I am a very active 46 and have severe early osteoarthritis of the knee arising (viewed arthroscopically) from a sports injury, although little pain. My (well respected) orthopaedic surgeon tells me that I will need a replacement knee within 2 to 15 years, probably about 10, depending how much I am prepared...crap

Might my surgeon's prognosis regarding the need for a knee repalcement be wrong?

pain medications?
i have lived with the pain of osteoarthritis, bursitis, and a labreal tear for several years now and everytime i ask my doctor or any doctor for that matter for prescription meds because otcs don't work anymore they do not give them to me. what is the reason and why do i have to try and convince...crap

I am in pain all the time from osteoarthritis and also have severe depression. I would like to hear from anyone who has the same complaints.My knees, feet and hips are bad at the moment and my legs are aching all over. Terrific Pain
My mom is in terrific pain with severe osteoarthritis in the back and legs. Right now she mostly is on pain killers, that somewhat work, but not that great. Is there anything else besides the typical anti-inflammatories, they have not worked. jnkcrap

Constant lower back pain so far not helped by any management options.
I have very severe osteoarthritis and have lost the "cushioning" between the discs from my waist on down the spine. I have bulging discs; I have been diagnosed with stenosis in the lower lumbar region. I am in constant pain. Medications - Neurontin and Vicodin do not completely stop the pain. I am never without pain...crap

What helps inflammatory erosive osteoarthritis?
