Go see your family doctor! S/he is trained to evaluate the cause of your pain and treat it. You can probably safely ignore occasional pain but if it persists and affects your sleep, it's time to get checked
I have pain under my leftribcage that radiates down to my left frontal side of my abdomal area... in may leftside, rib area and around my back. It is a very sharp stabbing pain that never goes away...
Pain under the leftside of your ribcage extending to your belly button could be above the belt... to difficulty breathing.
Peptic ulcer could present w/left upper quadrant pain as you described...
pain in the right upper quadrant (under the ribs), even stuff that isn't typically associated w/pain... or ligament being strained? I feel the same pain, its more like the lower part of the rib. Please...
My advice is to have it checked by a doctor, redbeast, if only for peace of mind.
Constantly ruminating over things like this can lead to an anxiety disorder or depression which is not something you would want.

I don't think this is related to an anxiety disorder, though no doubt it is causing you some anxiety. Your family physician should be able to determine the cause and be able to suggest a remedy.
