I don't think this is related to an anxiety disorder, though no doubt it is causing you some anxiety. Your family physician should be able to determine the cause and be able to suggest a remedy.

Go see your family doctor! S/he is trained to evaluate the cause of your pain and treat it. You can probably safely ignore occasional pain but if it persists and affects your sleep, it's time to get checked
Maybe he is having a side effect reaction from his other medical condition, coming down with a cold, low blood sugar or other problem.
Call his doctor and voice your concerns.
Symptoms are of Fibromyalgia, muscle trauma or other conditions that need to be address by a doctor.
