My husband refuses meds at facility. How can he be made to take them.
He has been in the assistedliving facility for 6 months. He is 67 and diagnosed with degenerative dementia. His behavior was violent before medication calmed him down. Now he is very resistant and flatly refuses to take any. The people in the facility know that they should back off and not persist...crap
My grandfather has Alzheimer's and is violent.
He currently lives in an assistedliving facility, but is in immediate danger of being kicked out, due to his violent outbursts (kicking, punching, spitting, verbal abuse, etc...). My summarization has become "what's wrong with Mom is keeping her from understanding what's wrong with her". My mother has been in assistedliving since August and everyone agrees that where she needs to be due to her advancing stage of mental/physical effects. But mom doesn't perceive her level of ability...crap
I am looking for suggestions on how to move an Alzheimer's patient from Connecticut to Alabama.
My grandmother has Alzheimers (critical) and has been in an assistedliving facility for 8 years in Connecticut. She is able to walk -- but that is really it. She has absolutely no awareness of anyone, and has needed help with eating and hygeine for years. We are moving her to an assisted care center in Alabama...crap
