been trained by, there is a mental limit on a particular exercise. In my case, with
bench press, it was 255lbs. For whatever reason, my brain decided that was the most weight I could
press. 315lbs was definitely out of the question. I'd try and try to get a 1
rep max of 315 and fail over and over. One day, a friend of mine...crap

Low Reps vs. High Reps
that are responsible for rapidly
contracting for power - the ones you'd use to do the 40-yard dash or
bench press... can be used in the same exercise. For instance, while
bench pressing a
moderate amount of weight (neither too heavy nor too light), the first
reps,
say 1-7, recruit mostly fast-twitch fibers, while those last few
reps, say 8-12
or higher...crap

reps using 3-pound dumbbells.
Squat with shoulder
press: As you come out of the squat position,
press arms up over your head (palms forward).
Chest
press: Lie back on a
bench (or... jog for 5 - 10 minutes.
Three sets of dumbbell rows while in the squat position for 20 - 24
reps...crap
Why You Need a "Spot"
gentleman who sustained the laceration was doing dumbbell
presses on a
bench when his right shoulder... that the spot could have grabbed the weight before it did any harm.
Bench presses, especially with heavy... that require one as well, such as the shoulder
press, squats and dead lifts. The latter two...crap
When and How To Warm Up

bench press, do several
