When we are dieting--as we all know--we are required to use
a great deal of self regulation--in other words, self control. But dieting is a
special case of self-regulation because you are confronted by food multiple
times a day. Because of this, there are many opportunities to blow it. But
there are things to do that can help.
It may help you to know that how you handle emotions effects
how able you are to regulate your eating while you’re dieting.It seems that dieters who let their
emotions flow freely are far less likely to lose control around food than
dieters who suppress their emotions.
There’s a good lesson here. It’s always good to be able to
express your feelings, but who knew it was such an important dieting tool?
